Job Overview

The Manager, Maintenance & Turnarounds, is responsible for leading and managing the maintenance and turnaround best practices across Entara refining sites. This role ensures that all maintenance activities and turnaround teams are executed safely and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of compliance. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience in refinery maintenance and turnaround management, driving continuous improvement, staff leadership, and developing / implementing corporate best practices.

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Leadership and Strategy:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance and turnaround strategies aligned with the company’s operational goals.
    • Act as the Technical Authority in the Maintenance and Turnaround space, providing the assurance role for the corporate team in the controlled execution of maintenance events.
    • Support the asset maintenance and turnaround professionals, fostering a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  2. Planning and Execution:
    • Mitigate risk in the planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities and turnaround projects across all refinery sites.
    • Ensure all projects are approvals are executed within established Limits of Authority (LOA) and according to the Capital Investment Standard. 
  3. Budget Management:
    •  Analyze the monthly/annual maintenance and turnaround budgets to assure alignment with investor strategy
    • Ensure all project portfolios adhere to established corporate standards and develop processes to assess compliance.
  4. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure processes and standards are in place to allow maintenance and turnaround be executed in line with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
    • Promote a safety-first culture, implementing best practices and safety programs to prevent incidents and injuries in all interactions throughout the company.
  5.  Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of maintenance and turnaround operations.
    • Provide regular reports to senior management on performance, progress, and areas for improvement.
  6. Corporate Best Practices
    • Establish and implement corporate best practices. Lead corporate network teams to ensure alignment across sites.

Qualifications & Attributes

  • BS Mechanical Engineering or Related Sciences
  • Refining Experience (10 + years); prior background in refinery maintenance and turnaround leadership. The ideal candidate has held corporate responsibility.
  • Writes clearly and precisely; speaks tactfully and convincingly; listens well; shares work related information freely.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm, confident, and decisive in emergency or crisis situations
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change, in management systems and culture
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
